Review: Tantus Little Secret: Kiss

As most of you probably know by now, a few months back I was sent the complete set of Tantus Little Secrets to review. Whether it was the fantastic neon colors, unique designs, ease of use, portability or amazing high quality silicone, I just couldn’t help but be impressed. But considering they’re Tantus products, that wasn’t really surprising.

For those of you that want to read about my experience with the other Little Secret products, I previously did a review of the Whisper, Touch and Spoon which you can find by clicking this link.

*just a heads up, some of the the content within this review has been taken from my previous posts as the information regarding the packaging, level of quality, care and cleaning is the same. If you read the other reviews, you can skip those parts and just read my take on Kiss.

Packaging

As with the majority of Tantus products this Little Secret come respectfully, professionally, playfully and beautifully packaged in a clear box that shows it off the way is deserves. The only real difference from the ‘regular’ packaging is the adornment of pretty reflective silver, white and grey flowers that make the cases look ‘designer’ in nature and very high end.

*I absolutely love it and hope they keep it up with all the new lines they create!

There’s nothing on the packaging that’s rude, unprofessional or embarrassing and with the exception of the word “toy”, there really isn’t anything to hint at what it’s designed for. You could definitely buy any of the Little Secret products and not have to worry about what someone would think should they come across them unexpectedly.

The Good

For those of you that don’t know, all of Tantus‘ products are crafted out of Ultra Premium Silicone making them easy to care for and clean, extremely body safe (being both phthalate and latex free), waterproof, odorless, hypoallergenic, hygienic, non toxic and non porous. Basically put, they’re badass in every way possible!

*because they’re non porous they won’t absorb bodily fluids, lube or bacteria.

Taking all of that into consideration, I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad word to say about anything they’ve made, and since they’re made from some of the best materials an intimate accessory manufacture can get their hands on, along with being anatomically targeted and tested, I just don’t think I could.

As for the specifics of the Little Secrets, I’m going to do a bunch of mini reviews, rather than one basic overall review, as I feel they’re each worthy of their own moment in the spotlight.

Little Secret Kiss in Strawberry:

Kiss measures 4 1/4″ inches in total length, with 3 1/4″ inches of that being insertable. It has a 3″ circumference and measures  7/8″ in diameter, making it both discreet and very comfortable to hold. When compared to the others within the Little Secret line it’s noticeably thicker and designed quite a bit differently as it has a tapered end leading to a slightly curved tip that when turned on resembles a tiny flicking tongue.

In regard to color it’s a beautiful and bright opaque fucshia that’s fun, bold, shiny, whimsical and very pretty.  Like many of the products Tantus makes, Tthe texture of the silicone is supple and slightly squishy allowing for a bit of ‘give’, a feature that often makes their products very easy to both use and hold.

It might just be my experience but I found that because the product tapers to a point you’re able to get a far more targeted application then with the other products in the Little Secret line. Now whether it’s used to purposefully target the clitoris, taunt and tease your partner by running it over their erogenous zones, or for tickling is totally up to you, I just know that for me, it’s the tip of this product that is its best feature!

The strength is the same as both Touch, Spoon and Whisper being neither too strong nor too weak, however I did find that because the tip was thinner the vibrations were a tiny bit stronger than the others (just in the tip though – pun intended).  On that note, if you like an exceptionally powerful vibration I don’t think the Little Secrets would work for you while in their sleeve. In contrast, if you’re very sensitive or like something that’s a steady, mid range vibe they just might be perfect.

*For those of you that like a strong vibe, keep in mind that you can easily remove the bullet from the sleeve and use it as is.

Other Options

The first time you try to remove the sleeve may not be the easiest and you’ll likely find yourself wiggling, pulling, twisting and tugging in frustration. I found it easiest to remove when I pinched the squishy tip with one hand and gently pulled the end of the bullet with the other, taking a second every so often to gently peel away the opening of the sleeve (which allows air inside the space and makes the suction easier to break). Once I had it off I applied a small bit of lube and reinserted the bullet which allowed it slide in and out without any friction or frustration.

Like all of the products in the line, Kiss is exceptionally quiet (trust me, no one will hear it even if they’re in the same room), fits nicely in the hand making usage very easy and comfortable, is slightly squishy allowing for a bit of ‘give’ when in use and because it has a simple push button activation it’s easy to start and stop.

As for ways it could be used, I personally think it’s best as a clitoral stimulator, though teasing and taunting your partners erogenous zones is also nice. Because it has a flat tip insertion for vaginal use isn’t the easiest or most comfortable easy and I truthfully don’t know how much stimulation it would offer.

*The only thing I’d advise against is anal insertion as it doesn’t have a flared base and will possibly get lodged inside you.

Care & Cleaning

Since they’re made of Ultra Premium Silicone you can wash them with anti bacterial soap and water, boil them up to 600° Fahrenheit, bleach them with a 10% bleach solution, or simply put them in the top rack of your dishwasher…yes, I did say put them in the dishwasher. I also suggest you remove the sleeve from the bullet before any kind of cleaning. While the bullet is waterproof (another bonus!), I don’t think it would do too well being placed in boiling water, a dishwasher or bleach solution. Simply washing it with anti bacterial soap and water or spraying it with toy cleaner will do.

Keeping your Tantus products like new shouldn’t be too hard, just keep in mind you should only be using water based lubricants as a silicone lube will likely ruin them. If all you have is silicone and you really want to use it, I suggest you do a “patch test” first; place a tiny amount on the bottom of your silicone sleeve or the base of the product, if it becomes foggy, matte or looks like it’s melting don’t use it as it wont be compatible.

As for changing the batteries it’s very easy; just unscrew the bottom cap, remove your N battery, pop the new one in, screw the cap back on and you’re good to go! *I also suggest you remove the battery when the product is not in use as it could corrode and kill your bullet.

Final Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars

The Bad

In regard to things I didn’t like there were a few, though I really don’t think they are that big of a deal and like many of my other reviews, I’m just nit picking.

1.) All of the products collect lint like you wouldn’t believe. If that’s something that bothers you there are a few easy solutions; you can store them in an air tight container to keep them away from dust and pet hair, wrap them in a lint free cloth or store them in the case they came with. Problem solved!

2.) The biggest complaint I keep hearing from other reviewers is that they aren’t the strongest. Considering some people are very sensitive the Little Secrets are still very good, they’re just not on par with most hand held wands or other extremely powerful vibes. Try to keep in mind they’re not supposed to be – they’re bullets. On that note, I’ve always been able to achieve an orgasm using them…and I’m a devoted Fairy Wand/Hitachi girl, which should say something.

*For the record, I was actually very happy to see that they used one of the more powerful bullets on the market – the RO-80mm Chrome Bullet which I have included in previous posts because I’m such a fan.

3.) If you’re like me and want to keep the packaging you might not like how hard they are to get out of the containers they come in. I literally ripped the tops of the boxes off my Kiss, Tease and Spoon, while also breaking a nail in the process. I actually don’t fault the company for this as I’m known for having a hard time getting products out of their packaging, especially if they have lots of tabs etc.

Final Verdict

From the moment I first saw Kiss online I knew I was going to love it!  Whether it’s the color, design, ease of use or the fact that it seemed somewhat superior to the others I previously reviewed I have no idea. I just know that it’s one of my favorites of the 5, with Tease taking the lead only by a tiny amount due to its rounded and curved body. (I saved my fave ones for last – with Tease being reviewed in the days to come).

Taking into consideration that Kiss is exceptionally body safe, light weight, odorless, water-proof, whisper quiet, wonderfully smooth and supple, doesn’t hurt, is very discreet and comes beautifully and respectfully packaged I don’t know what else they could have done to make it any better. Okay, they could have made it a tad stronger but that’s about it – and truthfully, I don’t really know how they could have since it’s a product that works with a long and thin bullet. (The one they used is one of the strongest I’ve found to date)

If you’re interested in any of the other products in the Little Secret line I suggest you head over to Tantus where shopping for body safe dildos, vibes, butt plugs and other badass finds is easy, affordable and your privacy is always respected.

Review: Le Reve Vibe

While on a hunt for affordable, body safe, powerful, quiet and easy to use g-spot products I cam across Pipedreams Le Reve Vibe and quickly requested it from the generous folks at SexToy.com. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as my experiences with some previous Pipedreams products have left much to be desired, however considering all the benefits and features it seemed to offer I just couldn’t help but satisfy my curiosity. Fortunately I was quite pleasantly surprise, with the product far exceeding my expectations.

Packaging

The Le Reve comes packaged in a rectangular black box with white and red writing that sports the name and image of the product on all four sides. The back has a brief write up that includes wording like “g-spot stimulation”, “direct clitoral stimulation” and “nipple or breast play” which may cause you to want to hide it as soon as it arrives. If direct wording like this causes you to blush just remember, it’s a box that can be easily thrown out.

The Goods

The product measures 7″ – 8″ overall with 6″ of that being insertable (it’s hard to measure due total length to the curve). The rounded tip, which makes insertion both comfortable and easy, starts out just over 1″ in diameter and gently widens to a bit over 1-1/2″ at the widest point.  The material is a hard non porous ABS plastic that’s exceptionally smooth and very shiny but has absolutely no squish, give or flexibility.  If you’re looking for something firm, without wanting to buy glass, metal or any other hard material, a product made out of ABS plastic like this one is definitely a good option.

Because the material is so firm applying pressure to the g-spot is relatively easy and keeping the pressure applied with the rounded tip is surprisingly comfortable. Whether you use it to steadily press against the area, as something to gently thrust or use in a rocking motion is totally up to you. Keep in mind that with a product like this all the options are possible and do a pretty good job or stimulating the area, you just may have to do a little work to find an angle and method that works for you and your body.

If g-spot stimulation doesn’t really work (or if you’ve had a hard time finding yours and just want to give up and enjoy the moment) the curved design is great for easily targeting the clitoris, labia or entire vulva without having to worry about a possible arm or hand cramp. Not getting enough foreplay from your partner? No worries, you can easily use the product to run over both bodies with ease, taunting and teasing in the process. The only thing I’d advise against is anal play as there is no base on it to keep it from ‘getting lost’.

When it comes to operating the product there’s only two buttons to worry about, both of which are located on the flattened base making adjusting the speeds relatively easy. The + (plus) button allows you to turn it on and run through the 5 different speeds, the – (minus) button goes back down through the speeds and finally turns the product off.  Pretty simple if you ask me.

The vibrations speeds begin at a low deep rumble that carry the entire length of the product with each one after that becoming both stronger and more intense. It’s not Hitachi Magic Wand strong, but not everything is supposed to be. If you’re sensitive or require low frequency vibrations it may be too strong for you. On the other hand, if you lean more toward a rumbling vibration, one that penetrates deeply when inserted this just might be the one for you.

Fortunately this is one of the quieter vibes I’ve had the pleasure of trying, being something I’m sure you could use without arousing the suspicion of roommates or anyone in the next room, especially when it’s muffled under the sheets.

Care and Cleaning

Keeping the product in good shape is relatively easy, just make sure to wash it well with soap and water or use an antibacterial toy cleaner. As for lubes, you could use anything your heart desires though I’d personally only suggest a water based lube as a silicone or oil based one can sometimes be hard to clean up.

Changing the batteries is very simple, just twist the bottom cap, slide out the battery case, pop 2 AAA batteries in place, slide it back in and twist on the cap.

The Bad

Although I did like the product quite a bit there were some issues I did have with it;

1.)    Because it’s made of a sleek hard plastic maintaining a hold on it can be rather difficult, especially when being used by someone with lubed hands. It puts a whole new meaning on the words slip n’ slide.

2.)    If you’re someone that enjoys heavy thrusting the hard plastic and curve may make it rather difficult, if not to mention at times slightly painful. No squish or ‘give’ often equals a bruised cervix if you’re too rough.

3.)    It requires batteries. For some of you that may not be that big of a deal, but considering that they can corrode and kill your toy, require replacement which costs more money and can sometimes die when you’re on your way from A – O I tend to avoid battery operated products. Call me spoiled, I don’t care.

Final Verdict

When I first spotted the Le Reve Vibe I really didn’t know what to expect, and judging by my previous experiences with Pipedreams products I figured it would be either a hit or miss situation. Fortunately for me it was pleasantly surprising and quickly became a product I’d highly suggest for those of you on a budget that still want to get your hands on something worthwhile.

That said, if you’re looking for a multi purpose vibe that also has multiple speeds, is quiet, ergonomically shaped, surprisingly powerful, easy to use, comfortable and waterproof the Le Reve Vibe shouldn’t be overlooked.

Review: Voila

I’ve always been on the fence when it came to products made by one of the major manufacturers of intimate accessories, California Exotics. On the one hand they’ve created great ones like the entire line of  Couture Collection and Petite Couture Collection vibrators, silicone L’amour and the Xtreme Packs – all of which I’m a huge fan of. On the other hand they’ve also created unappetizing products like Kaylani’s Futurotic Doggie Masturbator, cheap and dangerous Acrylite Beads, Teagan’s Jelly Bendies Ripple made out of horrible jelly material  and the painful Wireless Extended Ring Matador – things I wouldn’t suggest, personally use or go near for fear they may leave the user sore, raw or just simply fall apart. Aside from that the vast majority of products the company used to make (and possibly still does) are made of unsafe jelly material, not to mention being packaged in some of the cheapest and tackiest boxes/displays I’ve come across.

Having said that you can imagine my surprise when I realized that the cute and discreet Voila, a product I had been eyeing on Eden Fantasys for ages, was made by the folks at California Exotics. Quite honestly I wasn’t sure to expect, but in this line of work you sometimes have to gamble on a company and hope for the best. Considering the many benefits and features it had to offer, I’m rather glad that I did.

*big thanks to the folks at Eden Fantasys for sending it my way!!

Packaging

Unlike many other California Exotics products the packaging is simple, discreet, respectful and professional. There’s no half naked man or woman sprawled across the front of the rectangular box, no tacky writing or suggestive themes; just the name, benefits and features and an image of the product. That’s it that all.

*I seriously hope the folks at the company keep this type of packaging in mind for future products.

The Goods

Out of the box the pretty pink triangular Voila was much smaller than I expected coming in at only 3″ inches in length by 1 1/4″ inches in width. It’s this small size that allowed it to not only fit very comfortably in my hand, but also travel nicely as well. Having said that, it’s not at all intimidating or overwhelming and would be great for those who are new to intimate accessories and wanting to explore. It’s also very discreet in design and not something I think the majority of people would assume was used for pleasure filled activities.

Another great feature for those that are inexperienced is the ease of use it has to offer; to operate the product there are only 2 buttons – one to turn it on and run through the settings and another to turn it off (a great feature for those of you that share a dorm room, bedroom or still live at home and are terrified of getting ‘caught’). To turn it on simply press the clear ‘F’ button, to run through the range of settings press it again for each setting you’d like to experience. To turn it off simply hit the off button.

Regarding materials it’s crafted out of phthalate and latex free ABS plastic and has a PU Cote making it soft and velvety to the touch (if you hate products that collect lint you’ll love this).  There is a slight drag on the skin but it isn’t anything a little lube couldn’t fix.

When it comes to using the product I’d suggest it for either clitoral stimulation, foreplay (you could trace it across your partner’s body or erogenous zones) or a light massage. Just keep in mind it’s not Hitachi Magic Wand strong so if you’re looking for a heavy massage that’s deep and penetrating this probably won’t be what you’re looking for.

On that note, the vibrations of the Voila are more of a surface area high pitched vibe rather than a deep rumble. Even when used on the highest steady vibration or any of the 4 different patterns (making 7 settings in total), the results are the same; they’re steady but strong and will likely go a long way for those that are very sensitive to any form of vibration. Even as a person that enjoys the Hitachi Magic Wand or products within the Fairy line I was impressed.

Care and Cleaning

Because it’s an ABS product with PU cote cleaning can be done by using an antibacterial soap, giving it a good wash and rinsing it very well. As for lubes, I think you can use pretty much anything your heart desires, though I’d personally suggest a water based lube as a silicone or oil may be harder to clean off.

When it comes to powering the product you don’t have to worry about batteries as it’s rechargeable via a removable cord. Fortunately the folks at California Exotics thought ahead and designed the product with a clear plastic seal for the charger, allowing it to be completely waterproof.

The Bad

When it came to things I didn’t like there really wasn’t much to find, even when nit picking. For the most part it’s pretty badass, with a lack of oomph being it’s only drawback. Then again, not everyone likes a strong vibration.

Final Verdict

If you’re someone who is sensitive and finds that most products are either far too strong or not strong enough you might want to take a chance on the Voila, a fantastic clitoral stimulator and foreplay accessory with vibrations that sit somewhere in the middle.

Not only will you likely find yourself rather impressed with the vibrations, but you’ll probably also be pleasantly surprised with the ease of use it has to offer. If that wasn’t enough it’s also light weight, rechargeable, has 7 different functions, is damn near silent, water proof, travels well and has a much desired instant off button.

Review: Fun Factory ~ Yooo

fun factory yoooAfter reviewing products for over 4 years I’d like to think that I have a pretty good idea of what my likes and dislikes are. That I can look at a product, read the materials, how it works and very quickly determine if it’s quality or not. More importantly, that when I see a product I’ll almost instantly know if it’s for me.

For the most part my instincts are pretty good and have helped me to skip the crappy intimate accessories for ones that are often much more favorable, not to mention far more deserving of the title “sexual wellness product”.

Of course there are other times when my radar goes awry and I’m stuck clutching something I’m not only perplexed by, but also disappointed with, seriously wondering why I chose it in the first place. Such was the case with the Fun Factory Yooo, a product I specifically asked the lovely folks at Eden Fantasys for, which they generously obliged.

The Goods

While there are a few issues I have with the Yooo, there are of course a few things it does have going for it;

First, it’s crafted out of high quality silicone that’s non toxic, hypo allergenic, hygienic, latex and phthalate free, odorless, easy to clean and care for, while also being velvety smooth to touch. Unlike other silicones it doesn’t really collect lint (a pet peeve of mine), has some give and squish to it, and although there is a slight bit of drag, it’s not much to worry about.

Secondly it’s very, very discreet. Whether you live in a dorm, have a roommate, share space with nosy siblings or are simply worried that someone may come across it, you should be fine; there’s a very likely chance they’d either think it was a kids toy, some weird addition for your computer or possibly something for the bath instead of a sexual wellness product.

Third, it’s rechargeable. I know for some of you that isn’t really an issue but after losing many products during my early days to the evil corrosion of batteries, along with the amount of money I’ve spent on them, I had to learn the hard way why having products that are rechargeable is not only smarter, but saves you quite a bit of money in the long run.

Fourth, if you like to bring toys into the tub, or if you have to due to your living arrangements, the fact that it’s 100% waterproof may be a very big selling point. While I’m not necessarily one for bath time fun, I did find the lowest setting very relaxing during my bath.

Fifth, the packaging is discreet, professional, rather hi tech looking and comes complete with 4 different languages to explain the product. There is nothing on it that’s rude, inappropriate, embarrassing or something that would cause you to shy away. Sure the write up is a little tacky (the mention of the ‘balls’ is done far too often lol), but for the most part it’s nothing to worry about.

Last but definitely not least – it’s damn near whisper silent. Sure it’s a vibrator and therefor does make some noise, but it’s nothing that would be heard when muffled under the sheets, and certainly wouldn’t be heard through a door or within a shower or running bath.

*I actually turned it on and tossed it on the chair in the living room while my fiance was playing video games just to see how long it took before he heard it and asked what the hell it was. Let’s just say the cats were far more curious and noticed way before he did.

Specs

Aside from many benefits and features found with the Yooo, there are of course other aspects like size, maintenance and operation that should be addressed.

While the majority of the product is made of high grade silicone the front of the ball (where the buttons are located) is made of a body safe ABS plastic that makes it rather firm with no squish or give. It doesn’t really make much difference when it comes to using the product, but since it’s not 100% silicone I felt it was worth mentioning.

In regard to the size and shape of the product you’re basically looking at 3 spheres, or bubbles if you will. The middle one houses the buttons, provides an easy way to hold the product, while also giving you the surface area to magnetically connect and charge your Yooo. The two smaller balls are slightly different, with one measuring 1.75″ across and the other measuring 1.5″, each of which hold their own separate motor. It’s these separate motors that offer different methods of stimulation and allow you to explore and play until you find a position that works for you and your body.

*for those of you wondering, it gets its name from the three different ‘O’ shaped parts that make up the product.

Specs: total length 3 3/4″, girth at largest measures 6 1/2″, width at its widest measures 2″.

As for operating the product, there are only 3 buttons to worry about; a (+) plus, (-) minus and flower shaped ‘turbo boost’. To turn it on simply press down on the (+) button for 2 seconds and it begins to vibrate at a low rumble, press again and you go to the next speed and so on. Once you’ve reached the highest basic speed holding down the (+) button will jump the vibrations over to an escalation, with the dial of the buttons glowing in sync with the vibration pattern. Hitting the (+) button again will take it to the next pattern and so forth. In total you’ve got 4 patterns to run through. If the (-) button is pressed at any time during the patterns the vibrations go back to the highest setting before you hit the patterns. Find it confusing? Yeah, so did I the first couple times around. Having said that there is most definitely a learning curve. To turn it off simply press down on the (-) button which will lower the speeds, tap it once more and it turns off.

*If at any time you want to have a surge of power just press down on the ‘turbo button’ and the Yooo will vibrate at a hand numbing speed. No joke. My whole hand went numb in no time.

When it comes to recharging place the circular charger over the Fun Factory logo (located in the center of the buttons) and once magnetically connected, the charger will glow red.  If at any time the glowing stops you may want to check for a disconnection.

As for care and cleaning, since it’s water proof and made of silicone you can simply wash it with mild antibacterial soap and water, making sure to rinse it well.

When it comes to lubricants I’d only suggest a good water one as a silicone would likely ruin it over time.

In regard to ways of using it there are 3 options that I see, with the possibility of 4 if you can manage it. The first is for a nice, relaxing massage since the Yooo hugs curves in the neck and shoulders rather comfortably.  The second is during foreplay to tease and taunt your partner into arousal, whether it’s tracing over their nipples, inner thigh, forearms or feet. Next is clitoral stimulation and the last, which again is an option only if your capable of it – gently inserting one of the balls vaginally while the other stimulates the clitoris. It won’t work for everyone, but for those that it does – enjoy!

*just keep in mind this isn’t meant for anal insertion.

The Bad

The first issue I had with the product was in regard to the charger; because the product connects via a magnet there were many times that I left the room only to come back and find it disconnected. Annoying, frustrating and disappointing are definitely a few words that come to mind.

Next up are the vibrations – while some may be very impressed with them I unfortunately wasn’t. That’s not to say it isn’t relatively powerful or that the sensations aren’t enjoyable, it’s just that the vibration itself is very rumbly, buzzy and feels like it’s sitting on the surface, rather than being a deep, heavy and completely arousing vibe. Unfortunately it seemed like the only way I could reach orgasm was by continually hitting the turbo button. Keep in mind that this is just me and my body is likely different from yours. What works for some doesn’t always work for others, a point that’s clearly made with my experience.

On that note, while it does have two separate motors I couldn’t feel the difference between them like I did with the Lelo Ina. Yes, Ina is a different product all together, but if you can’t differentiate between the sensations what was the point of doing it in the first place?

Aside from that the buttons are rather hard to press and require a bit of force. Maybe it was just mine, maybe it was because it was new, either way it was slightly frustrating especially in the heat of the moment when hands are a tad lubed.

Finally, the shape itself leaves much to be desired as it doesn’t offer much by way of overall stimulation, makes targeting one area rather difficult, and for me didn’t feel the most comfortable. Not that it hurt, because it didn’t, it just felt awkward and weird.

Final Verdict

If you’re looking for a high end product that’s very unique in design and is therefor discreet, while also being quiet, rechargeable, powerful and something you can take in the  shower or bath, the Fun Factory Yooo
might just be for you. If on the other hand you’re specifically looking for a great clitoral stimulator, one that targets the area, has a deep and penetrating vibration, while also offering variable patterns and speeds, you might want to look at something like the Form 2, Insignia Alia or the We-Vibe Touch.

Don’t get me wrong, my love for Fun Factory as a company still remains and the product itself definitely well made, easy to use and high quality, it just sadly didn’t do it for me. I guess sometimes the old says can ring true – stick with what you know. From now on, that’s what I’ll be doing.

If you’d like to get more info on the product, read other reviews, get your hands on some great intimate accessories or simply want a place to shop that’s safe and secure, make sure to head over to Eden Fantasys where shopping is easy, fast and affordable.

Review: Cleo Bath Body Massager

I wasn’t sure what to think when I first saw the Cleo Massager on Eden Fantasys.  On the one hand I was intrigued by the unique design, impressed by the high quality silicone used, loved the fact that it was waterproof and thought it might be a great (and cheaper) alternative to The Cone.

On the other hand I wasn’t instantly convinced the shape would provide the right kind of stimulation, especially since it appeared rather large, bulky and seemed like it might not distribute the vibrations well.

Having finally had the opportunity to try it myself I can’t say for sure if I’m a fan. Don’t get me wrong I do like it, if I didn’t it would be in the Unapproved section of this blog. I just don’t know if I love it and after doing reviews for over 100 products, I’ve come to a point where I simply have to. What can I say, I’ve had my hands on some of the best intimate accessories around. Simply put – I’m spoiled. 😉

Packaging

One thing I was very impressed with was the packaging, especially since it’s one thing that many new companies tend to get wrong. The box (pictured above left) consists of a lovely glossy black box with circular images, a small product write up and a thin peek-a-boo window to view the product. There’s nothing within the description that’s tacky, silly, inappropriate, rude or irresponsible. So if you’re looking for something that’s discreet, the Cleo Massager packaging delivers. Sure the cardboard used is a little cheap, but considering you’re just going to toss it in the recycling box, it’s not that big of a deal.

*a nice little addition is the products specs which can be found on the back in four different languages: English, French, German and Spanish.

The Goods

Once out of the box you’ll find the product comes in two parts; the actual massager and the suction cup base.  Of course you don’t have to use the base if you don’t want to, but it’s nice to know they thought of including it.

*for those of you wondering, the base allows it to suction to any flat surface whether it’s the bottom of the tub, side of the shower, tiled floor or otherwise. That way you can mount it in any location without the fear of it sliding around beneath you.

Cleo is crafted out of three different materials; rubber for the suction cup base, hard plastic for the battery cover and a lovely velvety smooth 100% medical grade silicone that’s soft, smooth, feels wonderfully luxurious and has absolutely no drag on the skin for the actual massager. As with all high end silicone products the body is non porous, hygienic, hypoallergenic, latex and phthalate free, while also being non toxic. In a nutshell, it’s body safe.

As I said in the beginning of the review, one of the most interesting  aspects of the product is its unique design. It’s this shape and design that allows you to comfortably mount it and explore whether it’s rocking, grinding, gyrating or simply pressing against it for stimulation. Of course mounting isn’t the only option available;  Cleo can be held and rested against the clitoris for a whole other form of stimulation. When it comes to males it’s a fantastic product for stimulating the perineum (space between the balls and anus) during masturbation, or used by anyone on the anus. If those don’t really work for you there’s also the option of using it as a massager on your shoulders, neck or lower back, with the groove in the middle providing a nice curve to hug the body.

*While it’s not meant for vaginal or anal insertion, the tips of either of the raised bumps could be inserted while the clitoris or penis is stimulated manually by hand or another product.

Specs: length 4 3/4″,  circumference 15″, diameter 1 3/4″, weight 13 oz

Operating the product is actually rather simple, even though it looks quite alien.  Located beneath the smaller bump/ridge you’ll find the word ONO stenciled into the silicone, with a (-) minus and (+) plus symbol inside of each letter ‘O’.  To turn it on simply press down the (+) sign and it begins rumbling at a low frequency. Clicking the (+) sign again will take the product to the next speed and so forth. Once you’ve run through the 8 steady yet increasing vibrations, pressing the (+) button again takes you to the first of its seven programmed stimulation modes. To run through the different modes just hold down the (+) button for 2 seconds. To either go down in the speeds or modes just press the (-) button, to turn it off just hold down the (-) button.

*In regard to the modes you’ve got everything from pulses to roller coaster, escalation to a kind of random ‘free for all’ mode.

If you’re looking for a fantastic product to take on trips, Cleo is actually pretty amazing. For one thing the shape and design is very, very unique so you won’t have to worry about someone knowing what it is. On top of that it can be locked to prevent it from turning on accidentally while in your luggage. To lock the product simply hold the (-) and (+) signs down simultaneously until the LED light blinks once and fades. Your toy can be unlocked by performing the same action again. I have to admit, it’s pretty cool!

One of the other things Cleo has going for it is the minimal noise it has to offer; while it does emit a base like rumble, it won’t be heard through a closed door or over the running faucet within a shower or bath which makes it great for dorm, roommate or coupled living arrangements.

When it came to the vibrations I found they were moderate strength and lent more toward a deep rumbling hum than the typical surface vibe found in many products. Having said that, for those of you that ike intense and higher pitched vibrations you’ll likely find yourself dissatisfied. On the other hand if you do enjoy deep vibrations, or if you simply find yourself very sensitive, this may just be a fantastic product.

In regard to the batteries, simply unscrew the base and pop in 3 AA batteries and screw the cap back on. My only suggestion here is to make sure the cover is screwed on properly so that any lube or water (for bath/shower use) won’t get inside and corrode/rust the metal.

As for lubes, I’d only suggest a good water based lube as a silicone will likely ruin it.

Care & Maintenance

Keeping your Cleo in good working order isn’t very hard, especially since it’s waterproof. To clean it you can use soap and water, spray on toy cleaner or toy wipes. Just keep in mind it’s made of high quality silicone so it’s non porous, meaning it won’t absorb lube, bacteria or bodily fluids. As for the rubber suction base I’d suggest giving it a very good clean as it is slightly porous and may harbor bacteria after use.

The one thing I almost always forget to mention in reviews is the need to remove the batteries when the product is not in use. If you don’t there is a chance that they may corrode and kill the inside of your battery casing. Trust me, even when it’s not the greatest product you own you’ll still be sad when it dies due to something that could have been prevented.

*One of my lovelies was killed early this week due to my accidentally leaving the battery in. That’ll teach me!

The Bad

Over the past bunch of reviews I’ve been rather spoiled and didn’t have too much to bitch or complain about, relegating my annoyances to petty things like use of color, lack of use in the shower or attracting lint. In the case of Cleo, I finally have some valid points to offer:

Although it’s velvety smooth and soft,  it’s by no means squishy, supple or flexible and has absolutely no give to it. For some of you that may be a downfall, for others it may mean there’s something to grind against and apply a firmer pressure. Either way, remember that there’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way of masturbating. If something works for you, do it. Sadly for me this just didn’t lend any help and instead left me a tad sore.

It’s also rather large for an external stimulator which makes holding on to it potentially awkward, add some lubed up slippery hands and it’s even more awkward. Having said that I do realize some of you may like the larger surface area, I also realize some of you may not. I personally didn’t really find it too exciting for clitoral or any other kind of stimulation. But again, that’s just me.

The vibrations aren’t very strong which unfortunately for me was a bit of an issue. I quite enjoy very high vibrations and the quick release that type of stimulation has to offer. Of course you’re body may be different, so remember  – this is just my take on it.

Maybe I’m spoiled or maybe I just expect more from higher priced products bu the fact that it wasn’t rechargeable was a bit of a pain, especially since it didn’t come with batteries.

Final Verdict

Finding a product to love can be quite the challenge, especially when you don’t know what you’re looking for or what makes an intimate accessory great. Fortunately for most of you, I’ve spent the past 4 years dedicating much of my time to exploring and experimenting with many of the options available, all with the small hope of helping you in some way. Having said that, I really don’t know if I’d pay such a high amount for Cleo, at least not when there is a far superior product like The Cone readily available.

The fact that it’s made of high quality silicone, is waterproof, easy to use, can be used in different positions and different ways, along with being very quiet all bode well for this product. It’s the lack of vibration speed, low rumble, need for batteries and lack of flexibility that seem to ruin it for me. Like I said in the beginning of this review – I like it, I just don’t know if I love it.  Maybe your experience will be different. Maybe it wont. All I can guarantee is that for some of you this will be an amazing product and for others it’ll be something you’re on the fence about. But that’s like any product, so I guess you’ll just have to try it and find out.
