Sex Ed 102 Beginners Guide: Basic G-Spot Vibrators

Ahh, the ever elusive g-spot. One of the body parts mind boggling orgasms and frustrated rants are made of.  If that sounds a bit familiar, don't worry you're definitely not alone; for most women finding the g-spot can be a bit of a challenge, if not a great big annoyance. Trust me I know, I've been there.

Maybe it's because of where it's located (tucked away all nestled snug in the vag). Maybe it's because we don't have arms and fingers long enough to comfortably reach it. Or maybe it's because half of us have no clue what we're supposed to be looking for. Either way, the thought of twisting, bending and straining in the hopes of reaching an orgasm doesn't sound like the most fun task in the world, especially when there's no guarantee it will even happen.

Fortunately these frustrations can be a thing of the past with the help of  basic g-spot vibrators specifically designed to not only stimulate your g-spot, but more importantly – help you to find it!

Based on my own personal experiences, the 5 I’ve listed below are ones I’ve found to be extremely helpful when it came to producing some exceptionally pleasurable experiences.

*Once again I just want to send out a big thank you to the folks at PinkCherry.ca for not only sending the products my way (so I could review them), but for also being so supportive when it came to helping me create big project like this. If you'll be making any purchases due to this series of posts, please support them to show your thanks for them supporting me!

For those wanting more information about the g-spot, my Sex Ed 102 Beginners G-Spot Guide: Helpful Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions should be very helpful.

Basic G-Spot Vibrators

Slimline G-Spot Vibe: ($14.88 - $29.99)

Update: The Slimline G is no longer manufactured, so I've linked to another product that is the almost the exact same design within this section.

One of the very first products I purchased during my personal sexual exploration was the Slimline G. I don't know if it was the affordable price ($14.88 - can we say hells yes?!), ease of use, sturdy design, strange looking bulbous head or the fact that the sales lady kept raving about it, but I just couldn't help myself from buying it.

Not only has the Slimline G helped me find my g-spot and achieve some great orgasms over the years, but it has also stood the test of time, lasting far longer than many other intimate accessories I've owned.  (I dropped it, left it for hours in a sink of water, accidentally slammed it in a door - long story don't ask -  jammed it in a drawer and it still worked!) Taking all of that into consideration, I can't help but suggest it to any person on a budget that's also looking for a good buy.

As for the  specs and features; the Slimline G is crafted out of  body safe ABS plastic that's very firm with no 'give' making it perfect for applying pressure to the g-spot. It measures 8" in total length (7" of which is insertable), has a bulbous head that allows for a comfortable insertion, while also being wide enough to offer a large surface area for stimulation (it's 4 1/2" in circumference). On top of that, it has a dial on the bottom that makes it very easy to use, while also being water-proof.

When it comes to cleaning you can spray it with toy cleaner or give it a good wash with soap and water. In regard to lube, since it's made of ABS you can use anything your little va-jay-jay desires.

The downfalls; it's loud, not Hitachi Magic Wand loud, but loud enough that someone in the same room would hear it. Aside from that it doesn't have any special vibration patterns or an easy 'off' button and requires 2 AA batteries. (I'm a sucker for rechargeable products)

Final Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars.

Platinum Edition Butterfly Kiss: ($19.99 – $29.99)

Update: If you want a product with a longer life span, there is now a rechargeable Butterfly Kiss that's much better.

If there is one product I think everyone on a budget (that also wants a worthwhile vibe) should have, it’s the Platinum Edition Butterfly Kiss. Seriously, I love it.

Not only is the product the perfect length for G-Spot stimulation, but it also has a lovely little soft and squishy bulbous head that makes insertion and targeting the g-spot easy. More then that, it’s made of TPR and has 9 functions of vibration, pulsation, and escalation to help arouse.

Sure the head isn't firm or hard, which might not work out very well when it comes to applying pressure – but for me it does everything I need it to and then some! On that note, because it's made of flexible and squishy TPR it moves with your body rather than feeling like you have something 'jammed' in you (a common complaint I've heard regarding the standard 'firm' vibes).

Like the Slimline G the product can be cleaned with soap and water or toy cleaner. Totally up to you. As for lube, I'd stick with a good water based lube as a silicone would be relatively hard to clean since the TPR is porous.

The downfalls; It requires 2 AAA batteries and attracts lint. That's it.

Final Verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Shanes World Campus G ($19.99 - $29.99)

Update: no longer available, but the Desire G-Spot vibe is a very good replacement.

If I told you I liked the packaging I'd be lying. Likewise, if I told you the Campus G wasn't good at offering g-spot stimulation, I'd also be lying. Point being: never judge a vibe by it's cover.

From its smooth and shiny waterproof outer TPE shell, to the bizarre and random little nubs at its base, the Campus G has it covered when it comes to comfortable insertion, stimulating the vulva and targeting the g-spot in a way that's almost perfect.

Measuring 6 3/4" in total length, with 3" meant for insertion, it's the smallest of the 5 (in this post), though it's definitely not the thinnest, coming in with a 4.4" girth at its widest part. Insertion is rather comfortable due to the rounded tip and targeting the g-spot is easy with its perfect shape for applying pressure.

As for the firmness, it comes in somewhere between the Platinum Butterfly Kiss and Slimline G, having a curved tip that's somewhat squishy, yet maintaining a firm outer shell that isn't very flexible. In my experiences it's been a rather nice combination of the features offered with the other two products, while still having some special features of its own (ahhh, that lovely bizarre shaped base).

When it comes to cleaning simply wash it with soap and water or spray it with toy cleaner. As for lube, I'd also suggest a good water based one.

*Because the Campus G works like the Slimline G, via a dial on the bottom, controlling the speeds is very easy.

The downfalls: Requires 2 AA batteries, doesn't have any special vibration patterns and is rather loud.

Final Verdict: 4 stars out of 5

Lia Magic Wand ($39.99 - $59.99)

Update: The Lia Magic Wand is no longer available, however the Quiver Plus Rechargeable Vibe is a much better replacement.

When I first got my hands on the Lia I thought it would let me down. Like many Cal Exotics products, this pretty pink g-spot vibe came packaged in a cheap and flimsy transparent box that looked like it would fall apart the moment it was removed. And while I said you shouldn't judge a vibe by its cover, sometimes I just can't help myself. (force of habit I guess)

Quite surprisingly the Lia Magic Wand (no affiliation with the Hitachi Magic Wand) is stronger than some of the higher priced vibes I've tried, and also surprisingly, much better quality. Made of silicone (it passed the flame test) and velvety smooth to the touch, Lia has a relatively thin girth compared to the others (only 3.8") and measures 8 1/2" in total length with 6 1/2" of that being insertable.

As for vibrational functions, there are 10 in total that vary from 3 speeds to various escalations and pulsations, all of which are managed from 2 buttons located on the bottom; one for turning it on and quickly off, and another for running through the settings.

Aside from the 'body safe' materials, ease of use and lovely design the product has one more thing going for it; I've often found that when it comes to affordable products that come with various vibration speeds many of them either die very quickly (batteries, how I loathe them) or somehow lose strength the further you go through the settings. That of course isn't to mention the fact that most also have the mechanical part in the bottom causing the vibration to fade as it's carried throughout the shaft. Fortunately the Lia Magic Wand has the vibration right in the tip (no pun intended) so you feel it directly on the g-spot...and it doesn't lose power when experimenting.

Since Lia is made of silicone I'd only suggest a good water based lube as a silicone lube would likely ruin it. As for cleaning, you can wash it with soap and water or give it a once over with toy cleaner.

The downfall: the head is rather flexible which could make applying pressure a tad difficult.

Final Verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars

 Royal Princess: ($46.88 - $69.99)

Update: it's no longer being manufactured, but the Contour Demi Vibe looks like a decent replacement.

After experiencing what the previous product could do I had very high expectations for the Royal Princess. How could I not, it's a relatively similar design and made by the same company.  I also had high expectations due to the fact that it was from the Sue Johanson product line and endorsed by a woman who heavily influenced my sexual education as a teen through her "Sunday Night Sex Show" television program. I hate to say it but after testing it (a few times for fairness) I sit sadly on the fence.

On the one hand it's made from TPR making it smooth, somewhat squishy, a little flexible and very comfortable during insertion. It also has a nice curved neck that hugs the g-spot and retains enough firmness to apply pressure, while also being waterproof.

On the other hand, it has very weak vibrations, especially when compared to the other products and even more so when compared to all of the products I've reviewed - yes, I mean that.  Sure, it has 7 vibration functions that offer a variety, but when you can't really feel them that doesn't make much difference. Aside from that, it's a little awkward to use as the buttons are very small and located on the bottom which makes hitting the off button by accident a frequent annoyance.

Of course I completely understand that some people don't like strong vibrations, and that the old adage 'less is more' can often be true. Sadly for me it's not, which is why I find myself sitting on the fence. That in mind, if you want a g-spot vibrator that isn't overly powerful I suggest you try this one over the others. You likely won't be disappointed.

Like the others you can clean it with soap and water or toy cleaner, and as for lubricant, I'd suggest a good water based one.

Final Verdict: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Sex Ed 102 Beginners Guide: Kegel Exercises for Vaginal Wellness

While there are many intimate accessories designed to make stimulating the g-spot exceptionally easy, I'm a firm believer that having a fit, healthy and strong vagina is still one of the most important factors when it comes to overall sexual enjoyment. Just like any other muscle in the body, the PC muscles (or pubococcygeus muscles) need regular exercise to maintain their tone, functionality and overall health. Not only does having strong PC muscles enhance g-spot stimulation, but it can also give you a more desirable grip during intercourse, help to control your bladder, make child birth easier, while also preventing incontinence as you age. As for the sexual benefits, they've been known to help women learn to reach a g-spot orgasm, make their orgasms much more powerful, improve sexual arousal and possibly help make female ejaculation a bit more of a possibility. *For those of you wondering, the PC Muscles are several layers of hammock-like muscles (found in both men and women) that are attached to the front, back and sides of the pelvic bones and stretch from the pubic bone to the tail bone. Along with other tissues, these muscles work to support the pelvic organs, including the uterus, bladder, small intestine and rectum.

pelvic musclesKegel Exercises for G-Spot Health

Since it may take patience, dedication and time to not only identify your pc muscles, but also learn how to contract and relax them, I thought I'd share some pointers to make practicing slightly easier: Finding the right muscles: To find your pc muscles I suggest inserting a finger into your vagina and trying to squeeze the surrounding muscles (you should feel your vagina tighten and the pelvic floor move upward). Once you've done this successfully, you can relax your muscles and feel the pelvic floor return to the starting position. if that doesn't work for you trying to stop the flow of urine when you urinate might be a better option. If you succeed, you've got the basics. Doing Kegel exercises with a full bladder or while emptying your bladder can actually weaken the muscles, as well as lead to incomplete emptying of the bladder  - which may increases the risk of a urinary tract infection.

How To Strengthen Your Kegels w/ A Product

Thanks to the creation of different Kegel exercisers like Ben Wa Balls, Vaginal Barbells, Bio-Feedback devices and Duo Balls, strengthening the area has become much easier, and although the shape and size of such products may differ, using them is generally the same idea: 1.)  Relax your body and insert the product. If you find you're having difficulty try adding a little bit of  lubrication  to help it/them glide in. You can insert them standing, with one leg up or while laying down. Do what's comfortable for you. 2.)  Squeeze your PC muscles together to hold the product in place. If you notice that it feel like they're slipping or  pushing down a little (while inside your vagina) don't worry it's normal. 3.)  Hold the product inside for about 10 minutes a day to strengthen your PC muscles. Once you've built the muscle up you can increase the length of time they are inserted. 4.)  When you've had enough and want it removed you've got quite a few options to your disposal including jumping up and down, coughing, bearing down as if you’re having a bowel movement, inserting lubricant to help them slide out or simply inserting one finger and gently trying to roll them out (I've done all of the above so I know they work, especially with Ben Wa Balls). Just keep in mind that they won't get lost inside you, or your vagina.

Great Products for Kegel Exercise

Ben Wa Balls:

If there is one product that seems to have stood the test of time is these lovely little marble shaped metallic 2oz weighted balls. Smooth to the touch and easy to insert, Ben Wa Balls are crafted out of solid non porous and non tarnishing metal, making them body safe, compatible with any lube and very discreet. If silver isn't your thing they also come in a variety of colors, sizes and weights, as well as body safe ABS plastic, rather than metal.  My suggestion if you go for metal, get some stainless steel kegel balls; they're far more durable. To use them simply insert one at a time and use your PC muscle to hold them in place (don't worry, they won't get lost in side you - promise!).  While you can wear them during your day to day activities I suggest you be a little careful, at least in the beginning. I know a few people who have had them fall out and roll down a pant leg while in public. (Definitely funny in retrospect or to read in an email, but not so fun in the moment - for the record, it doesn't happen that often). *If you're new to Kegel exercises I suggest you try using something a bit larger to first, as it'll likely be much easier to hold onto. Once you feel comfortable and ready to move to something a little harder to master give the Ben Wa Balls a try. Specs: Circumference 2 1/4", Diameter 3/4", Weight 2oz (.13lbs)

Final Verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Silicone Kegel Balls:

From the moment I saw the Lelo Luna Beads I loved them! Not only do they come respectfully and professionally packaged but  they're velvety smooth to the touch, firm and nicely weighted - not too heavy, nor too light. They're also waterproof, made of high quality silicone so they're non porous, hypo allergenic, hygienic, phthalate and latex free. Rather than using a traditional string, the outer bulbous shells are connected via a thin piece of silicone that allows them to be very flexible and conform to your bodies shape and movements. As I said they are firm and have no squish or give to them, fortunately this isn't necessarily a downfall as it makes inserting them very, very easy (though I still suggest using a good water based lubricant to help out). Part of what makes these silicone K-Balls so amazing is the weighted ball contained inside each of the rounded shells; as you move they roll, bounce and 'shake' around, creating a whirling sensation inside you. It's interesting to say the least. Since they come with a silicone cord that measures 3.5" in length, removing them is a breeze. Just give a little pull and they should easily slide out. As for cleaning you can boil them, use an anti bacterial toy cleaner or wash them with soap and water. Specs: Length: 7.5", Insertable Length - 4" , Width: 1.4" , Girth - 4.5'' around (at largest  part).

Final Verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars

BodyWand Squeeze 5PC Teardrop Kegel Set

If you're someone who likes the 'full' sensation larger products usually have to offer, I can't help but suggest going up a slight bit from the K-Balls and trying the BodyWand Squeeze 56g Kegel Ball Duo instead. Like the K-Balls they're made of high quality silicone, waterproof, contain weighted insertable portions, have a long silicone cord for removal, are easy to use, easy to care for, and are very well made. Of course there are a few differences that set them apart. First of all, they're more like a tear drop than a ball, with an ergonomically shaped slight protrusion that makes them a bit more enjoyable for g-spot stimulation than the K-Balls. On that note, the Teardrops are identical in shape and size (5.5"/14cm long and 1.4"/3.6 wide), but the weights vary according to colour. The baby blue version is the lightest, the deep purple is the heaviest, and other are in between. The blue is a great place to start, it'll provide the least resistance and require the least amount of 'flex' to keep it in place. Move on when you're ready. Lastly, because of the design, there is nothing that needs to be done with them before use. No fumbling with outer shells or different balls. Just simply insert and you're good to go. Like the others, this set is body-safe, easy to clean, and safe to use with any water-based lube you love. Specs: Blue - 37g/1.3oz, Pink - 49g/1.7oz, Lilac - 57g/2oz, Magenta - 76g/2.7cm, Deep Purple - 115g/4oz

Final Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars

Overall Final Verdict

If learning to strengthen your PC muscles, whether for sexual purposes or health related reasons, is something that you're interested in, I highly believe that each of the products listed above will work wonders when it comes to getting into the habit of daily kegel exercising. Not only are each of the above products body safe, easy to use, affordable, discreet and well made, but they're also designed with female pleasure in mind...I'm not sure many typical exercise products can say that! If you'd like to purchase products designed specifically for kegel exercising, be sure to check out any of my favourite online sex toy stores be it Pinkcherry, SheVibe, or Babeland. Sex Ed 102 Beginners G-Spot Guide: Helpful Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions

When it comes to topics I'm asked about on a daily basis, the g-spot is definitely one of them.  Although the questions tend to come in many forms, the most common seem to be from those needing help to find their g-spot, or asking for suggestions on great products to stimulate the area. With that in mind, I thought I'd create this G-Spot Guide: Helpful Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions to help get those questions answered while also focusing on some of my favorite products, hopefully making the entire process easier. For the record, I'm not here to debate its existence. I've heard from more than enough people that there is an area, located within the same space, that gives them immense pleasure and arouses them like nothing else. That's all I need to be convinced there's a more than likely chance it's real. *Big, big, big thank you to the folks at PinkCherry.ca for supplying the vast majority of products I'll be doing mini reviews for. If it wasn't for them, this wouldn't have been possible!

The G-Spot

How To Find The G-SpotFor those of you that aren’t in the know, the g-spot (also known as the urethral sponge or "Grafenberg" spot, named after the fella that found it way back in the 40's) is located somewhere between 1-3 inches inside the vagina on the front wall, between the vaginal opening and urethra.
  • Just remember, your g-spot is not in your vagina, but instead can be felt through the vaginal wall.
It's bean-like in shape and made up of sensitive erectile tissue that engorges with blood when aroused, compressing the urethra (what you pee out of) to help prevent peeing during intercourse. On that note, if you’ve ever had something inserted (fingers, sex toy or been mid-intercourse) and felt like you had to pee -- that’s most likely due to the pressure on your g-spot.
  • I say it's located “somewhere between’ because every body is different and where it’s specifically located for one person, may not be the same for another.
gSpotimageRegardless of body shape and size, most will find it's located within a similar location – fingers length inside the vagina, slightly up ward and toward the lower part of the abdomen. Once the fingers are inserted, feeling around for an area that is spongy, rippled, ridged, bumpy, or generally feels different then the rest would be an ideal way of finding it. If you’re trying to find your g-spot, whether alone or with a partner, be sure to use firm pressure (but not so firm it hurts) as that tends to be the most agreed upon method of stimulation.
  • Keep in mind that during different phases of  the sexual response cycle the shape and size of the g-spot may change and therefore make it easier or harder to find.

G-Spot Guide: Helpful Tips, Tricks, and Suggestions

When it comes to stimulating the g-spot there is a general consensus that a “come hither” movement with the fingers or applying some pressure will work best. If that doesn't do it, you can also try lightly tapping the area, gently moving the fingers in a circular motion, opening and closing the fingers (like the "peace" sign) or sliding them back and forth in a "windshield" motion. Whether you're tapping, rubbing or applying pressure I highly suggest you keep the following things in mind:
  • Try to remember this is supposed to be a pleasure filled exploration of your body, not something that causes you stress, frustration, or leaves you felling embarrassed or annoyed. If you find that after multiple tries you can't seem to find it, take the time to relax and pleasure yourself.  As I previously said, the area will likely engorge with blood as you become aroused; the bigger it is, the easier it may be for you to find.
  • Since you'll be inserting fingers into either your own body or that of someone else, make sure your nails are trimmed and free of any chips or sharp edges. I know far too many people that have accidentally be scratched or scraped making it a painful or uncomfortable experience.
  • While this may seem to be something that's common sense, I can't stress the importance of having clean hands and/or making sure whatever you're inserting is clean.  G-spot play should be fun, not something that leaves you with a possible infection.
  • If you're not fully aroused and find that inserting a finger or sex toy designed for g-spot stimulation hurts due to improper lubrication, remember that you can always use a good water based lube to make insertion easier.
  • Just because someone else likes the way something feels, doesn't mean that you will, can, and/or should. Take the time to learn about your body, likes and dislikes, and find a way to make them work for you.
  • Most importantly, if you're exploring with a partner and find a sensation or movement that works - tell them! I know talking during sexual pleasure can be embarrassing, but if you don't tell them, they won't know.
  • Considering over 70% of those with a vagina need clitoral stimulation to achieve an orgasm, targeting the g-spot might not work for everyone. In addition to the g-spot you might have to stimulate the clitoris to achieve an orgasm. (For the record there's nothing wrong with that, it's just the way your body works)
  • Last but not least, empty your bladder, then make sure to drink LOTS of water.
Unfortunately stimulating it can be much easier said than done, especially if you’re masturbating and therefor not built with arms or fingers long enough to get the reach you need.  That’s where intimate accessories specifically created for g-spot stimulation can be of great help.

Great Products for G-Spot Stimulation

With the growing change in perception regarding sex and sexuality, more and more manufactures are creating products specifically designed for different functions; from dildos that stimulate the g-spot to basic g-spot vibrators, affordable sexual enhancement products to luxury items, there are many that will work wonders when it comes to targeting the g-spot, and in the process, bring about a further understanding of ones body, not to mention some fantastic orgasms! On that note, rather than listing all of the products here, I'm going to split the mini reviews into different categories that can be found by clicking on the links below. Goodbye YouTube

If you’re reading this you most likely already know about the recent developments regarding my leaving YouTube. For those of you that don’t, I thought I’d inform you of what has recently transpired so you’ll understand where I’m coming from and hopefully get why I’ve made the decision to move on. When I first began making videos 3 1/2 years ago there were no problems. I could upload anything relating to Sex Ed that I wanted and no one removed it. Sure, there were certain things I had to keep in mind; no swearing, background music, nudity, hateful content, violence, bullying or copyrighted material, but all of those “rules” were understandable and one’s I was more then willing to adhere to. Unfortunately things have changed over the last year and YouTube just isn’t the open minded, judgment free, uncensored site it used to be. Beginning early November 2009, quite a few of my videos were removed from the site due to claims the material was “content inappropriate”. What that means, I have no idea. Considering that the videos removed were strictly educational, showed no nudity, had no swearing, didn’t infringe on anyone’s rights and were done in a professional and responsible manner, it honestly made no sense to me, and still doesn’t. It was this first set of removals that started my fight against YouTube, a situation that lead to over 200 written emails sent their way by subscribers and viewers alike, along with a signed petition that’s currently over 1,930 people strong. After the influx of mail YouTube received, the removal of my videos stopped and things returned to “normal”. I was once again able to post content without fear or worry of rejection and you, the viewer, were able to learn from a source you had come to rely on and trust. Sadly, YouTube has gone back to its old ways and removed 8 new videos, along with 22 older videos over the course of the last two months, some within a matter of hours. Why, I honestly have no idea. To date, I have not received ONE email or message to inform me about the removal of my videos, why they were removed or a way to appeal the removal. All I get is a message on the page where the previous video could be viewed that reads: “This video has been removed because its content violated YouTube’s Terms of Service.” (as shown below) YouTube removal messageOn that note, I also haven’t received a reply to any of the polite and respectful, if inquisitive, 25 messages I’ve sent YouTubes way over the last year regarding my Sex Ed 102 channel. If I said their customer service was below par, it would be an understatement. If you’re wondering why I’d be so upset, it’s rather straightforward: Over the past 3 1/2 years I’ve been a loyal and dedicated content provider within the YouTube community. I’ve spend countless hours researching information, talking to doctors and nurses, studying statistics and attending courses on subjects viewers have asked about. I’ve worked to the best of my ability to present videos that are not only educational, but one’s viewers could laugh with and relate to. I’ve spent time answering some of the 50+ questions a day I receive from my YouTube inbox alone, hoping that somewhere along the way I’d eased someone’s fears, educated them, and/or encouraged them to make a conscious decision to be safer, smarter and more aware with the choices they make. As I’ve said in many videos, sex is not a game and unfortunately does come with consequences – consequences you deserve to know and learn about. With that in mind, no matter what anyone says comprehensive Sex Ed is a vital part of a persons well being and overall health; learning about STD’s, the different methods of protection, the male and female anatomy, how to communicate with your partner, different sexual wellness products and everything else that comes with being sexually active is of utmost importance – being educated just could save your life. I know to most people the videos I create come across as easy, like there is nothing to them and I shoot them in a matter of minutes. However, and contrary to that assumption, each video made requires hours of research, scripting (to make sure I don’t leave anything out), filming, editing, uploading, answering of questions, monitoring of comments and linking to numerous social media outlets to make sure everyone that wants to, gets to see it. To put things into perspective: each 10 minute video that I upload takes12+ hours to create. Guess it’s like they say, “there’s no rest for the wicked”. That said, every time a video is removed it’s like a cold hard slap in the face from the same people that once allowed me to upload videos without a second glance. The same people who 2 years ago had a moderator respond to a question I asked, letting me know I COULD create videos so long as I respected the “rules” I mentioned above . The same people who advertise the site as a place where ANYONE can upload videos. The same people who say they “encourage free speech and defend everyone’s right to express unpopular points of view”. The same people who make handfuls of cash off content providers like me. I might not be a Partner with the company (because they won’t accept me, I’ve applied over 12 times) but I DO bring thousands of viewers to the site every time I upload a video. Maybe it’s just me, but that SHOULD count for something. *On the topic of Partnership and being rejected – according to YouTube “advertisers don’t want to advertise against content that isn’t family friendly”. Yeah, right. Unfortunately none of the effort I’ve put in matters to the folks at the company. To them what I do is “inappropriate”. Your safety and well being don’t matter. Helping you make conscious and responsible decisions doesn’t matter and allowing you to learn from my videos isn’t something they want you doing. The removal of my videos is proof of that. What’s more, they’ve decided that you, as a grown adult, shouldn’t be able to choose what you wish to view or who you wish to learn from. They’ve taken away your ability to view videos on a platform you’ve come to trust and in my humble opinion, they’ve done a damn good job of deceiving you and making you think it’s a site for everyone, when clearly it’s not. For those of you that are going to make the argument that children use the site and therefore my videos SHOULD be removed, I have two responses: 1.) No child should EVER be on a computer unsupervised. Between the pedophiles lurking on the web, pornography that can be easy found and viewed, cyber bullying and number of viruses crawling around, leaving children on the web unattended is just a bad idea. Period. 2.) YouTube has the ability to make videos viewable by those 18+ ONLY, they’ve done it with numerous videos in the past and they continue doing it to others even now. It’s one easy way for them to limit what children find and still allow adults to learn about adult topics in a safe and responsible environment. Problem solved. As for my leaving, it’s rather simple: I no longer feel any need to continue bringing thousands of viewers to their site if they can’t answer one simple email, give me one legitimate reason as to why my videos are removed, or offer a way to appeal their decision. With that said, I’m moving on. From now on I will be uploading content to my Blip.Tv account ONLY. There will be no new links, posts or videos on YouTube anymore. What’s the point? they’ll just get removed in a matter of hours anyways. If you’d like to continue watching and learning, I suggest you either add me on twitter or facebook (and tolerate my babbling on each site) as the videos I create will ALWAYS be linked on both of my accounts. Twitter link: twitter.com/Kara_Sutra Facebook link: facebook.com/Kara.Sutra If you’d like to help me fight the censorship, removal of videos and work to have the ones that were removed reinstated, please either leave a comment below or message me on facebook, I’ll gladly provide you with the information you need to help. Please also realize that this isn’t me quitting making videos, this is me not giving YouTube any NEW content until the issues are resolved. If we can make a change happen I will more than gladly go back. :) To those of you that have continued to help, stood behind me during the battle and fought beside me in this ordeal – if it wasn’t for people like you I would have probably quit long ago. You are a continual sense of inspiration for me and a force that pushes me beyond the limits that even I think I can handle. I sincerely thank you for that! ♥ I hope you can understand the choices I made and not hold them against me. I also hope you will continue to stand behind me and support what I’m trying to do where censorship of Sex Ed is concerned – not just for me, but for those viewers who need it most. For some, their life might just depend on it. See you on the battlefield ;) Much Love Kara_Sutra
