Review: Couture Collect Inspire

Couture Collection Inspire Review

Ever since I received my Hitachi Magic Wand I’ve felt the need to own and review every hand held massager I can get my hands on. So far I’ve managed to try 3 different products in the Fairy line (Fairy Mini Wand, Fairy Miniature, Fairy Pocket Mini), the Ideal by Natural Contours and with the recent package I received from California Exotics to review as one of their “Sexperts”, I finally got to try the Couture Collection Inspire.

To say I’m impressed is an understatement!

Unlike a lot of the packaging that California Exotics products come in this one is rather discreet, respectful and professional in appearance. There are no half naked men or women cavorting around, no suggestive statements or hints that could come across as “inappropriate” and definitely no other imagery that could be considered crass.

While the box it comes in could be very easily recycled, I think it could also be used as a make shift storage container as you could easily remove the insert and place the massager inside. Fortunately it’s large enough to hold the product, power adapter and even has some room left over for a small bottle of lube and/or condoms.

*In all fairness, every California Exotics product I’ve seen in the Couture Collection has been professional and discreet. I just wish they did that with more of their packaging.

The massager is made of a hard ABS plastic with PU Cote causing it to be both body safe and velvety to the touch.  In total length it measures 7.5” inches by 1.5” inches around, allowing it to be rather small and not too intimidating. The head is slightly flexible and looks to be about the size of a large golf ball, being neither too large nor too small.

Located on the head is a removable silicone cap that supposedly makes cleaning easier, however I would have much rather preferred they made the cap non removable as it’s just one more thing to have to worry about losing. Aside from that, once you remove the cap the internal design has many crevices and ridges where debris could get lodged which actually makes cleaning harder than it needs to be.

*also on that note, I can’t see a situation where anyone would use it without the cap so it just seems silly to take it off.

The handle of the Inspire graduates upward in size getting larger as you get closer to the head making it easy to hold onto as it fits comfortably in your hand. To my surprise it was rather light (especially compared to the Hitachi) and didn’t have much weight behind it.

*For those of you wondering why I’m mentioning the above; I’ve recently begun getting messages from women that are older in age who are just coming into their sexual exploration (better late than never) many of which having expressed that they have arthritis or other muscle/hand/wrist issues. I’ve also begun getting messages from others (men and women) who complained about having carpal tunnel that makes their wrists hurt after holding heavy objects for a prolonged amount of time (don’t pun that). As someone who also suffers from carpal tunnel I can completely understand the pain they feel and where they are coming from. With that in mind, I found the lightness of the Inspire to be both comfortable to hold and a refreshing change of pace from many other hand held massagers.

Operating the Inspire is extremely easy as there is only one button (located on the handle) to worry about; to turn it on simply press the button once, to increase the speed hold down the button and as you do, the Inspire will speed up. To turn it off just press the button one more time and it quickly shuts off.

When you first press the button the Inspire will begin vibrating at a low pitched rumble, holding it down for 5 seconds takes it to the next speed which is quite a bit faster and definitely stronger, another 5 seconds and it moves to a much faster vibration (almost hand numbing after 10 seconds), 5 more seconds and it goes up another notch (very intense) and finally another 5 seconds and your dealing with a speed that’s seriously extreme (my hand went numb in record time – though I’m not sure that’s a good thing lol).

*Unfortunately I’m not too sure if my experience is common as I can’t state how many speeds there actually are since it only goes up when you hold the button down. I think it would have been a much better design had they made it so that you had to keep pressing it for stronger speeds but I guess they had their reasons.

If there is one thing that did impress me about the Inspire it’s the high speed it gets up to, especially for those of you with nerve damage or in need of very, very strong vibrations to reach orgasm. While I may be someone who needs high vibes to get off, I found this way too strong on the highest setting, having to instead settle for something more in the lower to middle range.

For as strong as it is the volume of the Inspire it’s surprisingly not as loud as I would have expected. That’s not to say it’s quiet, because it’s not, it’s just not as loud as others I’ve tried. On that note, if you’re looking for a quiet hand held massager, one that wont be heard through a door or by people in the next room I’d suggest the Fairy Mini Wand or Fairy Pocket Mini over the Inspire.

While it is meant to be a hand held massager, you know, the kind for sore backs, shoulders, feet and other tired and aching muscles, it doesn’t mean you can’t use it in more creative and orgasm inducing ways 😉

  • *If you like clitoral stimulation during masturbation this would be a great product to try as it’s easy to use, comfortable to hold and has a range of speeds. I wouldn’t suggest inserting it vaginally or anally, it’s not made for that and could really hurt during removal.
  • *Because of its unique and small design it fits comfortably between partners during intercourse. With that in mind, for those of you that prefer positions like “doggy style” or “cow girl”, where there is more room to maneuver (since there isn’t a body on top of you), the Inspire can be used to directly target the clitoris by either partner.
  • *For those that enjoy teasing, taunting or torturing your partner with foreplay (in the good way and the bad) the Inspire could be very easily run over the erogenous zones to bring on a heightened level of arousal to your lover. Now add that insane high speed and you’ve got one hell of a “torture” device. (Reminder: if you engage in S&M play make sure you have a ‘safe word’ before starting and are listening to your partner should they need to say it.)

In regard to power, the massager runs on a 120/240 volt Power Adapter that plugs into the bottom of the wand eliminating the need for batteries. While I understand the need for something that can be easily removed from the wand (minimizing the possibility of a break in the internal connection which could ruin the product) I found that the connection came apart when any slight tugging occurred, quickly turning the Inspire off and ruining the moment.

*I think it might have been a better idea to make the product rechargeable where the charging occurred the entire time it was plugged in (meaning that it would charge while you used it). That way, even if it did become unplugged it wouldn’t be that big of a deal since the product would still keep going.

When it comes to lubes I would only suggest a good water based lube, especially considering the cap is made of silicone. I know I’ve said it a hundred times over but I’d rather have you be informed than make a mistake and ruin your product.

As for cleaning, since the product *isn’t* waterproof I would suggest you either wipe it down with a damp cloth then let it air dry, use a toy cleaning wipe to disinfect it or use your favorite brand of spray on toy cleaner.

The Bad

While there was much that I did like about the product, there were a few things that I didn’t;

1.) Maybe it’s just me but I think there should be a limit to how powerful the vibration on a product can be. Having said that, I do understand that for some women the need for an extremely powerful product is an absolute must (me being one of those women), but the Inspire just seems too much. Way too much. Even for me.

2.) Keeping in line with the issue listed above, the fact that you can’t go backward in speeds is a definite drawback as the only way to lessen the vibe is to turn it off and start all over again. To be honest, it’s a bit of a pain in the ass.

3.) While I love that you don’t need batteries, the fact that you have to plug it into the base of the wand, making it also easily removable, means that you run the risk of having the product stop should you thrust or pull in the slightest way. Again, it’s a pain in the ass.

4.) Even though I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, the fact that it’s not waterproof is a bit of a drawback.

5.) This is just a simple pet peeve from the perspective of someone who loses everything – the fact that the head cap is removable is just plain stupid. Seriously, it’s just one more thing to worry about losing, and considering the internal structure of the head has bumps, ridges and basically looks like something you wouldn’t want to use on it’s own, the cap is something you definitely won’t want to lose. They should have just made it a permanent fixture.

Final Verdict

While there are most definitely other and better options available when it comes to hand held massagers (Hitachi Magic Wand, Fairy Mini Wand, Fairy Pocket Mini being some of them) that doesn’t necessarily mean it should be automatically ruled out.

It’s light weight, body safe, easy to use, rather quiet compared to other wands and is extremely powerful (some of you might need that). It isn’t very big or overwhelming, doesn’t require batteries, has an easy off function, multiple speeds and is rather affordable. With all of that in mind I just couldn’t place it on my “unapproved” list, especially considering the positive reviews I heard from others regarding their experiences with it.

Review: Fairy Miniature

Thanks to the folks at Eden Fantasys I was sent another product from the Fairy line to review, the Fairy Miniature. While it is extremely powerful, discreet, easy to use and guaranteed to deliver intense orgasms, I will admit, it is my least favorite in the series for a variety of reasons…

*by saying that I don’t meant I don’t like the product, I actually think it’s pretty damn awesome! I just think that out of all the Fairy products I’ve seen it’s my least favorite.

Just like all of the products in the Fairy line, the Miniature comes packaged in a pretty pink box with a see through window and a pretty pink fairy silhouette on the front. There is nothing on the box to hint that the product is meant for sexual purposes, no sexually suggestive or erotic photo’s and no derogatory terms, a definite bonus in my opinion.

There are of course pictures to help you figure out what your doing with the product (how to plug it in, insert the batteries etc.), however they are reminiscent of Ikea directions; suggestive pictures, words you don’t understand and the assumption that you can put two and two together…thankfully I can, but for those that can’t this might be a tad confusing.

When it comes to the actual Fairy Miniature, it’s relatively light coming in at  only 0.4lbs and falling somewhere between the Fairy Pocket Mini (0.3lbs) and Fairy Mini (1.23 lbs) in regard to weight.

*Personally I think the product is the perfect weight for a hand held massager; it’s heavy enough that you can get a good grasp on it, but light enough that it doesn’t weigh you down or cause any cramping in your arms or wrists.

In addition to being lighter then other models the Fairy Miniature is also relatively small for a hand held massager measuring only 7 1/4″ compared to the Hitachi Magic Wands 12″. While that 5 inches might not seem like much of a difference it really is, especially when holding the products side by side.

As for the other stats, the product measures 4 1/4″ in circumference and 1 1/4″ in diameter.  In my opinion it’s the perfect size for stimulation as it’s just big enough to offer a large surface area for arousal, but small enough to offer targeted and direct pressure just where you like it most.

On the topic of stimulation the Fairy Miniature has got to be one of the most powerful little wands I’ve ever seen! No joke, this bad boy will blow your mind! Like the Pocket Mini, the Fairy Miniature has 11,000rpms to offer in it’s compact and pretty little design. More then enough to get you offer in under 5 minutes!

For those of you that don’t know what to measure it against, the Hitachi Magic Wand offers 5,000rpms on its lowest setting and 6,000rpms on its highest…the Fairy Miniature far exceeds its highest speed by a whopping 5,000rpms. Now that’s impressive!

That said, for those of you that don’t like (or require) a strong vibration to reach orgasm the product can be easily operated by a dial on the front that allows you to adjust the speed from a low vibration to a high powered, extremely strong vibe in a gentle roll of the finger.

*As someone who loves a good strong vibe I must admit, the highest is way too much for me and I often found myself turning it down, something I rarely ever do.

Like all the Fairy products the Miniature can be used for a variety of purposes; it’s great for clitoral stimulation, nipple play or teasing of erogenous zone. Just keep in mind that if you are going to be using it during foreplay you might want to keep it on a low setting as the high is extremely powerful and might be a bit distracting rather then playful or “teasing”.

*I personally wouldn’t suggest it for internal use as the lip on rim on the product could make removal rather painful.

In regard to the power supply the Fairy Miniature uses, you have two options; a removable AC adapter or a removable plug in portable battery pack.

To use the AC adapter simply plug the cord into the bottom of the Fairy Miniature, then plug it into the wall outlet and you’re good to go!

*Personally I found that the AC Adapter  made the product much stronger and allowed it to last longer then when used with the battery pack.

To use the portable battery pack place 6AA batteries (3 on either side) into the case, plug the AC adapter into the bottom of the Fairy Miniature and you’re all done.

*While the battery pack does allow the product to be fully portable it’s also a bit of the pain in the ass as it’s rather heavy, drains quickly, doesn’t give the product as much power as when it’s plugged in the wall and can be rather annoying to open (I broke 2 nails trying to get it open!)

In regard to lubricants I would only suggest a good water based lube as I’m not sure what the head of the product is made of. That said, I do know that it’s phthalate free, latex free, made of food grade material and is completely body safe.

When it comes to cleaning I would suggest that you either spray it down with an antibacterial toy cleaner or give it a good wipe with a damp cloth (not a “wet” one) as the product is not waterproof and can’t be washed under a running faucet.

The Bad

As I said in the beginning of my review the Fairy Miniature is my least favorite in the line and these are my specific reasons why:

The product is rather loud when on the highest setting, emitting a high pitched rumble and coming very close to the Hitachi Magic Wand. For some of you that might not be an issue but I found it rather distracting.

While the battery pack allows you to travel with it, I found it to be rather bulky, heavy and didn’t provide the same amount of power being plugged into the wall did. Aside from the power issue, the battery pack was extremely hard to open and became more of a headache then anything else.

It requires 6AA batteries, something that really shouldn’t be that big of a deal but batteries are rather expensive and since they tend to drain quickly with this product, it’s almost like a waste of money.

Also on the note of power supply; both the AC adapter and battery pack are easily removed from the product. While this should be a positive there were a few occasions when mine fell out right when I was reaching a climax, causing me to lose it…not cool.

It’s not waterproof, again for some of you that might not matter but since I’m laying out all the faults I thought I’d include it.

Final Verdict

While the Fairy Miniature has a lot of faults I can’t deny that it is one powerful and pretty little machine! That said, for those of you that are interested in any of the Fairy products I would suggest either the Fairy Mini Wand or the Pocket Mini before the Miniature as I think they have less faults, are easier to control and remain just as powerful.

If you would like any info or to purchase any of the Fairy line of products they can be found at Eden Fantasys and purchased with your safety and discretion in mind.

Review: Fairy Pocket Mini

Fairy Pocket Mini ReviewThanks to the folks at Eden Fantasys I was sent what I think is my new favourite clitoral stimulator! Seriously, I don’t think I can say enough about the little wonder that is the Fairy Pocket Mini; it’s powerful, easy to use, easy to care for, discreet and very, very pretty!

For those of you with a fear that someone might open your mail and discover your new found friend, when it comes to the packaging of the Fairy Pocket Mini you don’t have to worry. The product is very respectfully packaged with nothing on it to suggest what it is, nor is there anything on it that could be considered rude, pornographic or embarrassing. It’s a simple pretty pink box with foreign writing on it (Japanese?) and a fairy wing shaped peek-a-boo window to view the product through…seriously there is nothing to worry about with this one.

On that note, the product itself is also very discreet resembling a teeny tiny ice cream cone more then a sex toy. It’s hard, shiny, white exterior has nothing on it that could offend, actually I would think quite the opposite. On the handle is the word “Fairy” (written in pretty pink) along with the silhouette of a tiny pink fairy, suffice to say it’s absolutely adorable!

One of the other things that impressed me with the Fairy Pocket Mini was the size; compared to other popular hand held massagers like the Fairy Mini and Hitachi Magic Wand this thing is tiny.  Coming in at only 5 ¾” in length, 3 ½” inches in around and only an inch in diameter it is probably the smallest hand held personal massager of its type.

While it is very small, don’t let the size of it fool you – as they say good things come in small packages!

I must admit, it was the power of the Fairy Pocket Mini that surprised and impressed me most – while it only has two speed settings, a high and low rather than vibration modes, they are both very powerful with the highest providing 11,000rpm of vibration stimulation. As for the lowest, unfortunately I couldn’t find information on it anywhere, but I can say that while it is quite a bit less, it is still very strong.

*For those of you that can’t imagine it, let me just throw this out there; the Hitachi Magic Wand has 5,000rpm on its lowest setting and 6,000rpm on its highest…the Fairy Pocket Mini far surpasses that with 11,000rpm on its highest. Like I said, this is one powerful little delight!

As for operating the Fairy Pocket Mini it’s exceptionally easy; located on the handle is a slider with 3 settings, off, low and high. To turn the product on just slide it into either the high or low setting and to turn it off just slide it into the off position. Nothing could be simpler.

On that note I’d also like to say that one of the things I liked about the slider was the fact that it didn’t slide too easily, it required a small amount of pressure to switch it from one setting to the next. While it might not seem like that big of a deal, if you’ve ever used a cheap toy and were disappointed by the fact that it slid a little too easily making it hard to control, and knocking your orgasm out of the way in the process, you’ll completely understand why this is such a fantastic feature.

While it is designed for clitoral stimulation it could also be used during foreplay on the nipples, inner thighs, taint, balls or any other erogenous zone that tends to excite. Due to its tiny size it can also be comfortably placed between two people while having sex, delivering the clitoral stimulation some females require to orgasm. Other then that it could be used for targeted massaging of knots or muscle aches and if you have a headache its rounded head is great for temple massage.

One of the uses that I’ve found for it, and love it for, is my constant hand/finger cramping due to carpal tunnel. Not only does the Fairy Pocket Mini quickly relieve any pain but it also helps to bring the feeling back to my fingers when they go numb. I know a lot of you won’t be facing the same issue, but if you do, trust me, this thing is amazing!!

*I personally wouldn’t suggest using it internally as it’s not really designed for comfortable insertion or removal. To be honest, with the rim on the head I would think that removing the product (once inserted) would be rather painful.

Aside from the power, discreet design and ease of use I also absolutely loved that the Fairy Pocket Mini didn’t require batteries to work, instead it can be recharged using either a Wall Charger or USB Charger (chargers are specifically designed for the products and can be used for both the Pocket Mini and the Lithium Charge Fairy Wands).

Just like operating the product, charging it is extremely easy; located on the lower side of the handle is a small slit that resembles a USB port which snugly fits the charger. A cable then connects the toy to an AC outlet or your computers USB port (depending on the charger you purchase). The Fairy Pocket Mini takes 90 minutes to fully charge for 70 minutes worth of use. Personally I think that like the Hitachi Magic Wand, it’s very unlikely that you’d need the full 70 minutes to achieve an orgasm 😉

I charged mine for only 15 minutes then unplugged it and let it sit in the on position just to see how long it vibrated for. Surprisingly I got about 35 minutes on a 15 minute charge, pretty impressive!!

*Quick note, while the toy is charging the lower end will glow a light blue letting you know that you’ve inserted the charger properly. If it doesn’t glow you might want to fiddle gently with the charger until it fits into place.

As for lubes I would only suggest a good water based lube as I don’t know exactly what the head of the Fairy Pocket Mini is made from. That said, I do know that the product is Phthalate free, hypo-allergenic, latex free and made of food grade material so you can use it without the worry of whether or not it’s body safe, it is.

When it comes to cleaning you can simply give it a wipe with a damp cloth or spray it with toy cleaner. Since it’s not waterproof I personally wouldn’t suggest washing under a running faucet, especially since the charger port does not come with a rubber stopper to seal it when not in use.

*Quick note, since the head of the Fairy Pocket Mini contains grooves and ridges that could easily collect “fluid” I suggest you pay it a little extra attention.

The Bad

For the most part I don’t have anything bad to say about the Fairy Pocket Mini, the only things I’d nit pick at (simply because I’m looking for something to pick at) are the fact that it’s not waterproof. Personally I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, but for some of you I know it’s a selling feature so I thought I’d mention it so you don’t buy it and think it’s one thing when it’s another. Other then that there is no rubber stopper to protect the charging port from debris like lint or other little particles of dirt – just place a little tape over the opening and voila, problem solved!

Like I said, I’m nit picking…these “issues” aren’t really that big of a deal.

Final Verdict

I’m sure you can tell by the review that I am a huge fan of the Fairy Pocket Mini – for many, many reasons; it’s easy to use, light weight, small and discreet, easy to care for, very powerful, pretty, rechargeable, made of body safe materials, easy to transport and can be used by either a couple or single person!

Whether you’re a beginner or Toy Connoisseur this is a product I think every female deserves to have! Trust me, while it is a little pricey, you won’t be disappointed.

If you would like any info or to purchase any of the Fairy line of products they can be found at Eden Fantasys and purchased with your safety and discretion in mind.

Review: The Fairy Mini

The Fairy Mini has quickly become one of my favorite toys for a few basic reasons,  it’s easy to use, not at all intimidating, light weight, feminine, has multiple speeds and for it’s little size is a very, very powerful hand held massager.

The Good

For those of you that watch my videos you should know that I’m a big fan of another very popular hand held massager – the Hitachi Magic Wand…well, I hate to say it and I really didn’t want to have to make any comparisons but I think my lovely Hitachi may have found some competition in the Fairy Mini and I’ll tell you why…

1.) At only 9.74 inches in the length the Fairy Mini is much smaller then the Hitachi Magic Wand’s 12”. I’ll admit that doesn’t sound like a very big difference, but when held side by side it really is.

2.)The Fairy Mini is much lighter (only 1lb) then the Hitachi Magic Wand (1.28lbs) which again wouldn’t seem like much, but when held at the same time is quite a noticeable difference.

3.) If there is one thing I like in a product it’s a multiple of settings, that said the Hitachi Magic Wand only has 2; a high (6000 rpm) and low (5000rpm).  On the other hand the Fairy Mini has a dial that allows you to adjust the vibrations from a very low rumble to a very high powered, intense and sensational vibe. Personally, I think the vibrations of the Fairy Mini are more powerful then the Hitachi, but unfortunately I couldn’t find a site online that verified that. From my experience, I will assume that the change in intensity is due to the smaller head of the Fairy Mini rather then the actual rpm’s it has to offer *if someone knows the actual rpm’s please feel free to post them.

Also on that note, what I like about the adjustable dial is that it makes the product usable by pretty much anyone; whether you need a very strong, intense vibration, a low rumble, or something in the middle this product has a speed for you.

All of that said,  if you currently own a Hitachi Magic Wand and are happy with the results you’re getting then stick with it. It is a fantastic product that has proved year after year to be a consumer favourite for a multiple of reasons! However, if you don’t yet own a hand held massager and are debating between the two I think that due to the benefits listed above the Fairy Mini is the way to go.

Everywhere I seem to look adult novelties are going wireless, a great feature but one that leaves you with the possibility of a product wearing out before you reach orgasm…which lets admit, can be most aggravating!  One of the great things with the Fairy Mini is that it gets plugged into the wall so you never have  to worry about it running out on you in the heat of the moment, or failing you on the way from a (arousal) to b (bliss).

In regard to the uses, the Fairy Mini with it’s adjustable dial can be used for a very relaxing or intense massage that helps relieve the tension of sore and aching muscles. As someone who suffers from chronic back/shoulder pain I can honestly say a powerful hand held massager can work wonders!!

Aside from that, the Fairy Mini can be used during foreplay to tease and/or taunt partners into a  heightened state of arousal. Once both parties are ready the Fairy Mini can be placed between partners, bringing both stimulation and excitement during intercourse.

And finally, the Fairy Mini can be used by either a male or female for stimulation of the genitals, nipples, and/or any other area of the body that brings excitement and amazing orgasms.

Operating Instructions

Using the Fairy Mini is actually very, very easy;  just roll the dial (located on the front) to the setting you personally like, relax and enjoy. It’s that simple! To turn it off just roll the dial up towards the head until it clicks off. On that note, I have to admit that I love that it has an easy “off” setting, especially for people that need one due to sharing a room or nosey roommates that forget to knock before entering.

*One thing I want to make very clear (just to keep you safe) is that since the Fairy Mini is a product that requires being plugged into an outlet it is not a product that is meant for insertion, i.e. do not put it in any orifice whether it be a vagina or anus. If you do the results could be potentially dangerous. Always remember, the Fairy Mini, like any other product that needs to be plugged in is meant for external stimulation ONLY!

That said, it’s also not meant for use in the shower, bath, pool, hot tub, jacuzzi, steam room or any other scenario that requires submersion into a large amount of water…if it gets moist due to personal wetness or lubricant that is one thing, but a water filled environment is another story. Be smart and play safe!

Care & Cleaning

As for cleaning, just run a damp clean cloth over the surface or spray it with a good anti bacterial toy cleaner and let it air dry.

The Bad

In regard to any negative features of the product, the only ones I could think of were that the head of the Fairy Mini is made of a hard plastic, rather then the softer cushioned head of some other hand held massagers. To be honest, it’s really not that big of a deal, I’m just nit picking.

Aside from that it is a tad loud on its highest setting, creating a very high pitched squeel. If that’s something your worried about you can always muffle it slightly with a pillow, but again I’m just trying to find faults where there are few.

Final Verdict

Taking everything into consideration, I think the Fairy Mini is a fantastic product that is easy to use, light weight, powerful and amazing at relieving sore aching muscles or bringing you to a quick climax.
