Thanks to some decent connections, I was sent another product from the Fairy line to review, the Fairy Mini Mini. While it is extremely powerful, discreet, easy to use, and guaranteed to deliver intense orgasms, I will admit, it is my least favourite in the series for a variety of reasons.
However, by saying that, I don’t mean I don’t like the product, I actually think it’s pretty damn awesome. I just think that out of all the Fairy Massagers in the line, it’s my least favourite.
Packaging
Just like all of the Fairy massagers, the Mini mini comes packaged in a pink box with a see through window and a pink fairy silhouette on the front. There is nothing on the box to hint that the product is meant for sexual purposes, no sexually suggestive or erotic photos, and no derogatory terms, a definite bonus in my opinion.
There are of course pictures to help you figure out what your doing with the product (how to plug it in, insert the batteries etc.), however they are reminiscent of IKEA directions; suggestive pictures, words you don’t understand, and the assumption that you can put two and two together… thankfully I can, but for those that can’t this might be a tad confusing.
The Good
When it comes to the actual Fairy Mini Mini, it’s relatively light coming in at only 0.4lbs and falling somewhere between the Fairy Pocket Mini (0.3lbs) and Fairy Mini (1.23 lbs) in regard to weight. Personally I think the product is the perfect weight for a hand held massager; it’s heavy enough that you can get a good grasp on it, but light enough that it doesn’t weigh you down or cause any cramping in your arms or wrists.
In addition to being lighter then other models the Fairy Mini Mini is also relatively small for a hand held massager measuring only 7 1/4 inches, compared to the Hitachi Magic Wands 12 inches. While that 5 inches might not seem like much of a difference, it really is, especially when holding the products side by side.
As for the other stats, the product measures 4 1/4″ in circumference and 1 1/4″ in diameter. In my opinion it’s the perfect size for stimulation as it’s just big enough to offer a large surface area for arousal, but small enough to offer targeted and direct pressure just where you like it most.
On the topic of stimulation the Fairy Mini Mini has got to be one of the most powerful little wands I’ve ever seen! No joke. This thing will blow your mind! Like the Pocket Mini, the this massager has 11,000 rpms to offer in its compact and pretty little design. More then enough to get you offer in under 5 minutes. Or make you go numb. Which ever comes first.
For those that don’t know what to measure it against, the Hitachi Magic Wand offers 5,000rpms on its lowest setting and 6,000rpms on its highest… the Fairy Mini Mini far exceeds its highest speed by a whopping 5,000rpms. Now that’s impressive!
That said, for those of you that don’t like (or require) a strong vibration to reach orgasm, the product can be easily operated by a dial on the front that allows you to adjust the speed from a low vibration to a high powered, extremely strong vibe, in a gentle roll of the finger.
As someone who loves a good strong vibe I must admit, the highest is way too much for me and I often found myself turning it down, something I rarely ever do.
Usage & Operating Instructions
Like all the Fairy products the Mini Mini can be used for a variety of purposes; it’s great for clitoral stimulation, nipple play, or teasing of erogenous zones. Just keep in mind that if you are going to be using it during foreplay you might want to keep it on a low setting as the high is extremely powerful and might be a bit distracting rather then playful or teasing.
In regard to the power supply the Fairy Mini Mini uses, you have two options; a removable AC adapter or a removable plug in portable battery pack.
To use the AC adapter simply plug the cord into the bottom of the wand, then plug it into the wall outlet and you’re good to go. Personally I found that the AC Adapter made the product much stronger and allowed it to last longer then when used with the battery pack.
To use the portable battery pack place 6AA batteries (3 on either side) into the case, plug the AC adapter into the bottom of the wand and you’re all done. While the battery pack does allow the product to be fully portable, it’s also a bit of the pain in the ass as it’s rather heavy, drains quickly, doesn’t give the product as much power as when it’s plugged in the wall, and can be rather annoying to open (I broke 2 nails trying to get it open).
In regard to lubricants I would only suggest a good water based lube as I’m not sure what the head of the product is made of. That said, I do know that it’s phthalate free, latex free, made of food grade material and is completely body safe.
When it comes to cleaning I would suggest that you either spray it down with an antibacterial toy cleaner or give it a good wipe with a damp cloth (not a wet one) as the product is not waterproof and can’t be washed under a running faucet.
The Bad
As I said in the beginning of my review the Fairy Mini Mini is my least favourite in the line and these are my specific reasons why:
The product is rather loud when on the highest setting, emitting a high pitched rumble and coming very close to the Hitachi Magic Wand. For some of you that might not be an issue but I found it rather distracting.
While the battery pack allows you to travel with it, I found it to be bulky, heavy, and didn’t provide the same amount of power being plugged into the wall did. Aside from the power issue, the battery pack was extremely hard to open and became more of a headache then anything else.
It requires 6AA batteries, something that really shouldn’t be that big of a deal but good batteries aren’t cheap and since they tend to drain quickly with this product, it’s almost like a waste of money.
Also on the note of power supply; both the AC adapter and battery pack are easily removed from the product. While this should be a positive there were a few occasions when mine fell out right when I was close. Not cool.
It’s not waterproof, again for some of you that might not matter but since I’m laying out all the faults I thought I’d include it.
Final Verdict
While the Fairy Mini Mini has a lot of faults I can’t deny that it is one powerful and pretty little machine. That said, for those of you that are interested in any of the Fairy products I would suggest either the Fairy Mini Wand (now sold as the Bodywand Original Body Massager), or the Pocket Mini before the Mini Mini as I think they have less faults, are easier to control, and remain just as powerful.
